Laboratory Technical Officer

About The Role:

The Laboratory technical officer will work with our scientists to assist in the execution of microbiological studies, carrying out laboratory based work necessary for the successful execution of the SCC R&D program.

You will be assisting to:

• Execute storage, maintenance and preparation of microbiology samples

• Run laboratory experiments and assays under the guidance of SCC scientists

• Engage in data systems to record laboratory processes and outcomes

• Assist in the inventory of laboratory supplies and stock

• Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained/prepared in accordance with approved procedures

• Investigate and resolve technical challenges in the lab

About You: 

• You are enthusiastic about research and laboratory experiments.

• You have a strong work ethic and are able to follow through on ongoing tasks independently

• You are great at record keeping and happy to engage with digital tools and databases

• You are committed to safe working practices and willing to ensure the safety of others around you 

• You are committed to best practice laboratory standards and sterile working practices

• Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable, but not essential.

Details:  

• 1 year full-time contract with option for renew.

• $60,000 per annum + superannuation.al
